25 JUNE 2004

Amidst temperatures that ranged from 97 to 103 degrees, the APO entourage arrived in MacAllen at the edge of Texas bordering Mexico to do the last show on their 13 city North American tour. While they were expecting to see a little town or barrio with some Filipinos, the APO were pleasantly surprised to discover a modest-sized city with quite a number of kababayans. But what took the cake for Jim, Danny and Boboy were the warmth and kindness of the Filipinos they met—nurses, doctors, PTs and others in the medical field lured to this border city to practice their profession. They were wined and dined and treated to every kind of Pinoy hospitality so that the APO were utterly won over.

APO capped their tour in MacAllen with a roaringly successful performance that ended (again) with congratulatory shouts and cheers and standing ovations! The group went back to the hotel after the post-concert party in high spirits and with some regret that they had to leaveearly the next day. Another week in MacAllen to enjoy the sights and our kababayans would have been a great way to unwind before coming home to Manila.

Until next time, MacAllen. And to all those who watched our shows, bought our CDs, all the people we talked to and to all our producers, we thank you all from the depths of our hearts. We hope to come back soon and play for you once more!
