New York City was APO’s 11th show
in their 13 city tour. And as usual, they did it again. The elicited
a warm standing ovation from the New Yorkers who clapped, cheered,
laughed and shouted from the very first song of Joey Albert who
performed before APO, till APO’s final song—a rousing
Minamahal Kong Pilipinas finale to mark Philippine Independence
Day.
People from all ages were present at the
Hunter College auditorium—from kids as young as 8 who were
brought by their parents to lolos and lolas who appreciated the
group.
The next day at 5AM, the whole entourage
rushed to Newark airport to catch a flight to Jacksonville for a
concert at 6PM. With hardly any sleep, the group managed to pull
off their 12th standing ovation in their concert at the Morroco
Shrine auditorium.. It was also a great time to be with old friends
classmates Mike Hanopol who fronted for APO, and Ed Sevilla, Jim,
Danny and Boboy’s classmate and producer of the show! |
