APO in Chicago!

Despite Boboy’s sore throat that rendered his speaking voice into a whisper, APO was “smokin’ hot” at Chicago’s Gateway Theater last Friday, May 12. The show started with the versatile local talent Rhaye, followed by the enchanting Joey Albert. The all day rainy weather did not prevent the Chicagoans from showing up en masse and giving the girls and APO a roaring ovation! Once again, the windy City warmed up for them. Midway in the show, Jim announced that his daughter Erica whom he made the song Batang-Bata Ka Pa for was going to make him a grandpa very soon. The announcement was greeted with warm applause.

The next day, APO took an early flight to Washington DC for their show in Virginia on Sunday, May 14. The performance was in a club and it was an SRO audience. Jokes were flying thick and fast as Danny and Jim made fun of Boboy’s vocal condition. Remarkably though, Boboy’s voice would resurface when he sang.

With hardly any sleep (again) after the show, the troupe left early for the flight to California to do two gigs (show nos. 6 and 7 in their itinerary of 13 shows) in San Diego and LA this 21st and 22nd of June.
