APO at Toronto Highlights!
The APO STRKES AGAIN 2004 Spring
Tour of North America kicked off in high gear.Last April 17, Danny,
Jim and Boboy of the legendary APO returned to conquer Toronto just
as they did 15 years ago. The sold-out 2,900 seater International
Center at Missasauga, an outskirt of Toronto rocked with delight
as fans sang, laughed and were teary-eyed at the breathtaking two
hour performance by the timeless trio.
Fans reminisced and sang as the APO did
their old hits, clapped enthusiastically at the new songs and laughed
with abandon at the gimmicks the trio dished out.
In true APO fashion, Danny, Jim and Boboy
promised "to bring the audience home and have a Philippine
experience without immigration and plain tickets" and delivered
it in generous portions. Fans described the concert as " the
show to beat". One fan described it as "simply the best
entertainment" she had seen in Toronto so far. " I felt
I 've known them for so long and they really reconnected me to my
past. I had a really great time. I hope they don't take another
15 years before they return", she gushed!
The Three and Only also performed with
Michelle Cuyugan, a local chanteuse, Geneva Cruz who electrified
the audience with her disco numbers, Renee and the Star Kids who
did "Love is for Singing" and "Batang-Bata Ka Pa"
with the APO. The concert was produced by ASTRALIAS Productions
headed by Jeanette and Ron Cruz. Next stop for the APO's 14 city
tour will be Cincinatti on April 30.
